The Indiana County Highway Workers Foundation (ICHWF) exists to provide financial assistance to Indiana county highway workers who are killed or disabled while working in the line of duty.

When injury happens, we ensure that workers and their families are not left to navigate the financial hardship alone.

ICHWF exists to fill a critical gap – yet our ultimate hope is that our assistance is never needed. Since our founding in 2024, two hardship applications have been submitted following serious work-related injuries. In both cases, the Foundation provided $5,000 in direct financial assistance to help bridge income gaps during extended recovery periods, allowing families to remain in their homes and focus on healing rather than the immediate financial strain.

 

The support provided is more than financial assistance — it is a tangible expression of respect for the service and sacrifice of those who maintain Indiana’s transportation infrastructure every day.
